In 1988, I started studying electrical engineering at the University of Bremen, where I received my diploma degree (Dipl.-Ing.) in 1993. Afterwards I was employed at the Carl von Ossietzky University of Oldenburg at the department of VLSI-Design as a research assistant. Since then I started working towards my PhD. Within the topic Design for Low Power I've been focusing on analysing power-consumption on gate level. I received my PhD degree July, 3rd 2001. From 1998-2007, I have been working for the "Security and Chip Card ICs" business of Infineon Technologies AG as a hardware designer in Munich. Since September 2007 I am now working as a professor for digital engineering at the Hochschule Emden/Leer. My lecture topics can be found under „Veranstaltungen“ (German). My research-interests are in the fields of security-controller-design and university didactic. Currently I have the following responsibilities/memberships: ¨ Dean of the Faculty of Technology (since 2020)
